Contaminated Land Capital Programme 2012 open for application
Local Authority Contaminated Land Capital Programme which helps local authorities in England cover the capital cost of implementing the contaminated land regime under Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 is now able to receive applications. Scottish Government contract to review methods of assessing the risk to human health associated with contaminated land
IOM has been commissioned by the Scottish Government to undertake a review of methods to assess risk to human health from contaminated land. The overall aim of the project is to work up guidance that should be useful to Scottish Local Authorities in assessing whether sites represent a significant possibility of significant harm (SPOSH) to human health. CIRIA to provide secretariat service for SilC, Specialist in Land Condition
In April 2011 the SiLC Register Scheme became an incorporated company and is now operated under the company name of Specialist in Land Condition Register Limited. Formalising the organisation will not affect the way the scheme works and SiLC continues to benefit from the direct support of eight of the Professional Bodies, who are all now members of the Company. At the same time, CIRIA have been appointed to provide Secretariat services to the SiLC Register. For more information please go to www.silc.org.uk
