CIRIA’s Local Authority Contaminated Land (LACL) Network since its inception in 2002 has been providing training and briefing workshops for local authority officers that have land contamination duties.
Over the last four years, the number of LACL members has steadily grown to its present number of 139. Initially the membership was largely concentrated in London, however, more recently members have been joining around the UK, and LACL now has a strong membership in Scotland, Wales and Yorkshire & Humberside.
CIRIA has identified the need to establish a committee to engage more effectively with the members. The role of the committee meeting twice a year (likely to be April and September) is to assist in identifying future workshops, developing other services that would benefit LACL members and engaging local authorities that are not currently LACL members.
