Category searches

The documents have been divided into the following categories to assist searching:

• Good practice guidance – documents covering current industry standards and the state-of-the art.
• Legislation-related – publications directly related to the implementation of specific legislation, e.g. Part IIA.
• Published standards – standards documents produced by BSI, ISO or others.
• Technical/ research report – reports presenting detailed technical information, often on a specific area, or results of research projects.
• Textbook – books published by mainstream publishers often for use by students.
• Training pack – training materials.

Keyword searches

The database can also be searched quickly by selecting a keyword. 65 keywords have been defined to assist searching and include aspects such as investigation phases, site and contaminant types, receptors, types of remediation method, regulatory regimes and other key terms used in contaminated land assessment and management. Definitions of these are included in the site glossary.

Other search methods

A full text search of records can also be made to identify relevant items and all records can be displayed, sorted either by title or date-added. By bookmarking the latter, regular visitors can see what new records have been added to the database.
